Meets with key trades for release of new solution
Challenge:
Microtest had two divisions, and their well-established testing
division-for which they'd been named-had completely overshadowed their
storage division. Although their products were technologically superior
to the market-leading solutions, few analysts and fewer network
administrators were aware of their products. They were also considering
selling this portion of the company and wanted to increase its
attractiveness and value as an acquisition.
Solution:
We organized a bi-coastal press and analyst tour to promote the launch
of their FileZerver 3.0 product. We secured appointments with analysts
at Giga Information Group, DataQuest, Meta Group, Forrester Research,
Aberdeen Group, Gartner Group, Peripheral Concepts, Datapro, and IDC to
raise Microtest's profile with top storage-industry influencers. In
addition, we scheduled appointments with the top publications for their
industry, including InfoWorld, Computerworld, Information Week, e-Week,
InfoStor, Computer Technology Review, Network World, and Network
Computing, as well as all of their local dailies. The new, higher
profile of Microtest's storage division made them an attractive
acquisition target and they were bought soon after the completion of
this campaign.
