Karem Planas
Co-Founder & Public Relations Strategist

Karem Planas, co-founder of Buzz Strategies, launched the firm in 1999 after five years in the public relations industry. With her expertise in the technology and real estate markets, Karem has successfully launched and publicized dozens of products and businesses in these industries.

Having worked with technology companies ranging from small start-ups to large enterprise corporations, Karem has established herself as a media expert. In addition to excelling as a media relations strategist, she provides senior counsel in crisis communications, company and product launches, as well as strategic positioning.

Prior to starting Buzz Strategies, Karem managed accounts in the networking, storage and card technology markets at Brodeur Worldwide. Karem has also worked at Cunningham Communications with the IBM Consumer Technology Team and with Hill & Knowlton, where she helped launch a campaign for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. A graduate from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations, Karem is fluent in English and Spanish.

Julia Bryson
Co-Founder and Marketing Strategist

A co-founder of Buzz Strategies, Julia has helped corporate giants such as Nike, Novell, WordPerfect and MCI, as well as with mid-size companies and start-ups attain their PR and marketing goals. With her understanding of the entire spectrum of marketing and PR activities, Julia has the expertise to coordinate campaigns that leverage resources, maximize effectiveness and drive core business objectives.

Julia is an expert on working with the analyst and influencer communities. She works with clients to heighten visibility and credibility with industry experts. As a result, many clients have gained high-level recognition in the analyst community, including one client that was recently named by a prominent analyst firm as a top-ten vendor in their industry.

Her ability to analyze the core business challenges companies face and to identify solutions is one of Julia's unique strengths. At Nike, she identified the principle problem that was diminishing the profitability of their multi-billion-dollar footwear division. The solution that she was instrumental in implementing resulted in millions of dollars in savings and increased sales.

Prior to Buzz Strategies, Julia was Director of Public Relations for Viasoft, Inc. Julia graduated from Brigham Young University with honors and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
